There seems to be an error in the Novel stats? The list places Death’s End at 5th place and Too Like the Lightning 6th, the runoff breakdown says Lightning won fifth.

Congratulations to all the Hugo winners. Although not all the winners were my favorites, all the winners were deserving of the prize.

I am delighted to find some favorites receiving awards: Ursula K. Le Guin, Uncanny, and “The Tomato Thief” from Apex!

  13. lauren says:

Why no YA award? ie the brilliant Glass Sentence series.
Why no TV award? Orphan Black!

    • Kevin says:

      Lauren:

The members of the World Science Fiction Society at this year’s Worldcon approved the creation of an Award for Best Young Adult Book, which is not a Hugo Award (in part because it would be unfair for the same work to be eligible in two Hugo Award categories simultaneously), but that will be administered in parallel with the Hugo Awards starting in 2018.

Most television episodes are eligible in the category Best Dramatic Presentation, Short Form. This year, the winner was the episode “Leviathan Wakes” of The Expanse. There is not an award for Best Television Series, only for individual works such as episodes.

  14. I am very confused. I looked up John W Campbell award and got this site and a different winner. http://www.sfcenter.ku.edu/campbell-finalists.htm Are there 2 Campbell awards??

    • Kevin says:

      Dina:

Yes. There are two completely different Campbell Awards. The John W. Campbell Award for Best New Author is not the same thing as the John W. Campbell Memorial Award.
