Nominations Announcement Schedule

Aussiecon 4 received a record number of nominations for the 2010 Hugo Awards: 864, up from 799 nomination ballots at Anticipation in 2009 and 483 at Denvention 3 in 2008. This year’s Hugo Award nominations will be announced 22:00 BST, Easter Sunday 4 April, at Odyssey 2010, this year’s Eastercon, and covered live on the Aussiecon 4 Twitter feed. Balloting for the Hugo Awards will commence thereafter and will conclude on 31 July at midnight, US PDT. The Hugo Awards Ceremony will be held at Aussiecon 4 in Melbourne on Sunday, 5 September 2010.

Official Hugo Award T-Shirts Now Available

You can now demonstrate your interest in the Hugo Awards by wearing Officially Licensed Hugo Award T-Shirts. These “Classic Hugo Award” shirts list the names of people who won Hugo Awards at least 25 years ago (including Retro-Hugo Awards) on the back and a set of different humorous designs on the front. And yes, one of the front designs does say, “I’m on the back.” Our thanks to Steve Davidson for designing these shirts and making them available.

The Hugo Awards now have their own Twitter feed (you can find our page here). We don’t expect to do much tweeting, but there will be announcements on the feed when we make new posts here. And of course we hope to tweet this year’s winners live from Worldcon in Montreal as they are announced.

Welcome to the official web site of the Hugo Awards. This site is primarily for providing information about the Hugo Awards, and an historical record of past nominees and winners. However, there will be news here every so often. Most importantly, of course, the results of the 2007 Hugo Awards will be announced here some time on Saturday September 1st. A list of the 2007 nominees can be found here.

The historical data on this site is still being added to. We are particularly keen to get information about past Hugo Award base designers and administrators. We are also missing two photographs from our historical record of Hugo Award designs (1982 and the 1946 Retro Hugo). If you can help with any of this, or have other information about the Hugo Awards you would like to share, please contact us.
