Chicon 7, the 2012 World Science Fiction Convention, has extended the deadline for submitting designs for the 2012 Hugo Award trophy base until January 15, 2012. The Chicon 7 web site has full details on the design competition and the press release with the full announcement.

The 2011 Hugo Awards will be announced tonight, August 20, at a ceremony at the Peppermill Hotel in Reno, Nevada during Renovation, the 2011 World Science Fiction Convention. The ceremony is scheduled to start at 8 PM Pacific Daylight Time tonight.
